Piscines Desjoyaux
Sector
Activity
Desjoyaux is a French family business that designs and manufactures swimming pools.
Piscines Desjoyaux is a family-owned company founded in 1966 that designs and builds in-ground swimming pools. In order to support its growth and the expansion of its French and global distribution network, the firm wanted to launch a user-friendly B2B portal with configuration, quoting, and order-placement capabilities for its dealerships, importers, and subsidiaries. The idea was to give users quick and easy access to the features and characteristics of products in the company’s catalog, and to cater to growing demand for custom-design pools.
Piscines Desjoyaux commissioned Hardis Group to develop the portal for desktop, tablet, and mobile, based on Salesforce B2B Commerce.
“The system that Hardis Group deployed was initially conceived as a response to calls from our French dealerships, importers, and subsidiaries for greater independence in catering to growing demand for custom-designed pools. By the end of the project, we were able to add B2B2B capabilities to the system without outside support, and we’re currently working on embedding B2B2C features.” Alexandre Pascal, Chief Information Officer, Piscines Desjoyaux
Context and objectives
- Provide dealerships and importers with a user-friendly sales-support system
- Grow sales in France and worldwide through a multilingual B2B e-commerce portal
- Cater to growing demand for custom-designed pools
- Give dealerships quick and easy access to detailed information about pools, equipment, accessories, and consumables
- Boost sales through up-selling and cross-selling
- Shorten the order-placement process
Application
The e-commerce portal, which went live in February 2020, is so intuitive that French dealerships, importers, and subsidiaries were able to begin using it without any training. Initially, in order to keep deployment on schedule, the portal was launched with full descriptions of the 2,000 best-selling items in the firm’s catalog (out of 6,000 in total). A year later, full product descriptions were available for all pools, equipment, accessories, and consumables on the portal, which now serves as a marketplace for the company’s partners. The configuration tools give dealerships, importers, and subsidiaries greater independence in catering to demand from their end customers (features, technical information, possible customizations, exploded views, and more). The portal and configuration tools, which are available in French and English and were extremely well-received, were subsequently expanded to include B2B2B capabilities for subsidiary distribution networks. Eventually, B2B2C features will be added to the platform, including dealership services (installation, cleaning, etc.).
